Australian scuba diving can be a rewarding and challenging experience. Weather you are a beginner or expert diving in Australia and the great barrier reef is fun and challenging but what pleases most people when they go to Australia and decide they want to go scuba diving they are not sure where to go.Until someone mentions the great barrier reef and straight away there eyes prick up thats where I want to go diving.And usually the next question is where is the best places to go diving , snorkeling , oh but I have small children is it safe to go diving because I have heard many story's about scuba diving some good and some bad. Like what if I am scuba diving and there are sharks or something along them lines.
There is many diving experiences did you know you can go diving and not get wet yes thats right try its called a glass bottom boat and I can tell you its beautiful or maybe try you luck and stay on an island and go snorkeling and just sit back and relax.
If you're thinking of going diving and are not sure where the best spots are . So the next question is what are the best islands to go ?
Well I think the coral sea is unique , lizard island, is the best for scuba diving but if you have a family than fitzroy & Green Islands are good for the kids another is franklin island generally most of theses islands offer diving snorkeling, and other scuba adventures. But if your a serous diver live a board diving is wonderful you see they have special areas that most cant get to cairns dive center and tusa dive really rank in there fields.
I have no equipment or experience . Not a problem
If how ever you don't have any diving experience or equipment and you wish to purchase diving equipment you can do so through paddy dive center they do extensive training but the general rule your local tour will offer short courses or half days depending on your budget and time frame .
What is the best time of the year to go to cairns Australia for my diving experience ?
September through December is a good time because its perfect weather but cyclone season is from January through May but given climate change these days the weather is a little more hard to guess. Please be aware that the tropical north is very hot so snorkeling and scuba diving in the great barrier reef is addictive .

The Great Barrier Reef's environmental pressures include water quality from runoff, climate change and mass coral bleaching, cyclic outbreaks of the crown-of-thorns starfish, overfishing, and shipping accidents.
